A compact leather crossbody built around a cast D-ring closure. Full-grain bridle leather, vegetable-tanned. Made to order in the private London atelier, sized for essentials only.
The Vault is the smallest object in the atelier’s first collection and, deliberately, the first one you encounter. It is built around a single idea: the closure should be the architecture.
A cast and hand-finished D-ring bears the weight of the flap. There is no magnetic catch, no concealed plastic reinforcement, no decorative excess. The ring holds the bag shut by tension, angle, and the pressure of the hand that opens it.
The body is cut from full-grain bridle leather, vegetable-tanned and finished in black. It will mark, soften, and record use. That is not a flaw in the object. It is the evidence of ownership.
Each piece is made to order in the private London atelier. Lead time is confirmed by email after the order is placed.
Hardware
The D-ring that closes the Vault is the first article of the house hardware language, and it will reappear at larger scale on future objects.
Hardware is cast and hand-finished for Brazen Wear Atelier. Burnished brass warms and darkens with use; blackened steel holds a colder architectural tone.
No foundry, supplier, or regional provenance is claimed publicly unless Joseph confirms it.
Care
Store the Vault in its dust bag, loosely filled to preserve the silhouette. Keep it away from direct heat and damp.
Condition sparingly with a neutral beeswax-based balm. Apply a thin pass, let it rest, then buff with a clean cloth.
Brass will patina. Blackened steel should hold its tone. If the leather is scored, stained, or damaged, write to the atelier.
